    DeFiE facilitates half day, full day, multi-day, and yearlong academies in decolonizing the academy, how to have conversations about race and racism, creating culturally sustaining pedagogy, design thinking and liberatory design, and strategies for leading systemic change.

DeFiE works to

Support College Leaders

DeFiE provides strategic support with educational leaders working for social justice through equity focused leadership coaching, conflict negotiation support, meeting facilitation, project management, and training development and facilitation.

Disrupt Systemic Oppression

DeFiE supports individuals and institutions to build capacity for disrupting systemic oppression through trainings on talking about race, racism, and whiteness in education; design thinking; decolonial vision development and planning; and in supporting telling the story of the efforts to disrupt oppression.

Build Inclusive Environments

DeFiE provides opportunities for faculty, administrators, and staff to build awareness, engage in critical reflection and praxis, and build skills create the learning and workspaces that are inclusive and work towards a decolonial future. We do this through our decolonize the academy training, nonviolent communication training, and through supporting colleges to better understand their community with focus groups, policy and practice audits, and think tanks.
